The various climbs to the hut from Öztal

Climbing to the hut via the Siegerlandhütte and Sonklarspitze

Gasthof Fiegl (guest house) at Windachalm (1937m elevation) marks the starting point. You now continue your hike along trail no. 102 via the Siegerlandhütte (possibility to stay overnight). The trail then leads over the ridge (I) to the glacier plateau “Hohes Eis” (high ice) (3392m elevation). After having crossed the plateau towards Sonklarspitze (3467m elevation), you descend to Übeltalferner via the unsecured eastern ridge (II). There your journey continues to the Becherhaus (3195m elevation).

Climbing to the hut via Zuckerhütl and Wilder Pfaff

Gasthof Fiegl (guest house) at Windachalm (1937m elevation) marks the starting point. From there you proceed via trail no. 102 until reaching Hildesheimerhütte (2900m elevation) - (possibility to stay overnight). From the Hildesheimerhütte you can climb to the Zuckerhütl (3505m elevation) or simply hike past it. Over the Wilder Pfaff (3458 m elevation) your path continues over the Pfaffengrat (II) to the Müllerhütte (3145m elevation). Below the Müllerhütte, follow the trail as far as the Becherhaus (3195m elevation). The Pfaffengrat is partly secured with wire rope and stepping brackets.
